Kosher chicken shortage for sukkos and yom tov hits Lakewood and tri state area.
It appears earlier reports are now confirmed as many stores in the tri state area are low on chicken or have none on the shelf. As reported earlier here on koshertoday.com a shortage and price increase was expected sukkos time due to the closing of some plants coupled with high commodity prices. In Lakewood there is a sever shortage of chicken and due to the schedule this year it is hard for the butchers to shecht and restock the shelves in time for yom tov. Meat is still plentiful B"H.
