The Lakewood Rosh yeshiva Rav Yeruchem Olshin Rosh Yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha who is currently in Eretz Yisroel, attended the Levaya of Reb Moshe Reichman Z'L. In his hesped, he spoke on behalf of the Rabbonim, Roshei yeshivos and youngeleit of the Lakewood Yeshiva. He quoted the Pasuk " הצדיק אבד ואין איש שם על לב, אנשי חסד נאספים ואין מבין". Rav Moshe Sternbach delivering a Hesped |
It was during a time when the yeshiva, BMG was going through a very hard time financially, and could not cover the kollel budget. The Rosh yeshiva Rav malkiel Kotler along with Rav Elya Svei Zt"l traveled to Toronto to meet R' Moshe Reichmann and ask for his help. He took upon himself the responsibility of supporting the kollel payroll at that time. The Rosh Yeshiva said that was the foundation upon which the kollel is supported and enabled the yeshiva to flourish. Other Balei batim soon followed Reb Moshe's example and gave large donations. The kollle checks have been issued on time every 2 weeks since than for almost 12 years. The hachzokas hatorah and the Limud hatorah of the Bnei hayeshiva are all in his Zechus.
Other maspidim were his Chavrusos from his younger years in yeshiva both the Gaavad and Raavad of the Eidah hacharedis, Rav Tuvia Weiss and Rav Moshe Sternbach. Rav Berel Povarsky, Rav Boruch Mordechai Ezrachi, Rav Avrohom Erlanger of Kol Torah were all maspid. They mentioned how he was a true ben torah in all aspects, He never looked for honor and kavod. No matter what the circumstance, he never stopped or took his mind off Torah learning. His cheshkas hatorah remained with him throughout his life. He was very successful in business and became one of the eminent supporters of Torah institutions in our generation. He was a pioneer in this area, setting an example for others by donating huge sums of money to the Torah world. For Pictures of the Levaya click HERE. For Hamodia article click

What a shame that such an important man merited the above written article. It is written on a third grade level, full of spelling mistakes and poor sentence structure. Really, "he never looked for honoe", or "what circumstance he was in weather.. "?
ReplyDeleteAnd what is "cheshkas"? Do you mean cheshek? Pitiful.
Thank you. Cheshkas hatorah= Joy in Torah study.
Deleteit is pitiful that you don't know what cheshkas means.
DeleteI lost my Cheshek, can you find it?
DeleteThere is a famous story with Reb Moshe Abba Kamyan Z'l who was in Lakewood yeshiva. He went over to Moishe Reichman and asked him to lend him $50,000. R' Moishe asked him when he plans to pay it back, he replied; when you need the money.
