To post or not to post?
Images and videos of Arab terrorists stabbing and murdering Jews R''L have never been seen so instantaneous and live as in previous intafada. The frum websites and social media, whatsapp etc.. are one upping each other over who can post graphic pictures, videos and bloody gory content faster. Yeshiva world news posted in the name of an anonymous Rabbi justifying why they posted a video of an arab terrorist butchering to death a frum yid after running him over on Malchei Yisrael street in the Geula neighborhood. At least they were nice enough to post the viewer descretion is advised warning. The anonymous Rabbi, compares us to Moshe Rabbeinu who had to see for himself the cheit haeigel. Perhaps hits and ratings also go into account , but the frum print media has never printed these images in years past. Does the fact that its online change the dynamics. Yes, the world can now see Jewish blood spilled in the streets of Yerushalayim, Yes seeing is believing, but if you choose to share it with the world it should not be an anonymous Rabbi who paskens this sheila.
My guess is its Rabbi Yair Hoffman. He's a frequent contributor to YWN and VIN and its his style of writing.
ReplyDeleteIf anonymous rabbis can "free" married women, why can't they do everything else? Unfortunately, there are too few boundaries left to be broken by anonymous rabbis.
