The interlopers- Churban of the internet part II

A blogger from Chicago, a Rabbi out in the west coast, a open orthodoxy activist, would have never stuck their nose in matters and issues that are not local to them. The internet has deleted the word "local" out of the dictionary. Prior to the web, it was not found that an outsider would give his deah or say opinion on a matter or a minhag that does not pertain to him. If one had a sichsuch with someone or if there was a community split over an issue, the parties involved were familiar with each other. You always knew who you were dealing with. That has changed with the interloping bloggers and clueless activists patrolling the world wide web for any issue they hashkaficaly oppose. Its long reached a point where you do not have to read their posts to know what type of silliness they are going to write they are so predictable.
previous post-  Churban o the Internet part I
The tzaros caused by these outsiders meddling on issues they know nothing about is beyond comprehension.
A recent example, a Chovevei Torah activist penned a essay about the current situation with East Ramapo school district. His piece was riddled with factual errors and misrepresentations, he has been proven to know absolutely nothing about the goings on. He was ripped apart on the air by the current school Board members of the district. Yet the damage was done. All it did was fan the flames and make more tzaros for those looking to fix a broken system.

Same with the frum bloggers who look for any news article about yidden which in their small mind they cant understand and they put in their two cents. What gives a Modern orthodox blogger from Chicago or Rabbi with a small shul on the beach, the right  to butt in on an issue that does not pertain to their own kehilla. What gives people a right to question the minhagim and derech of Satmar or Lakewood or any chasidus that only pertains to these kehillos who follow their leaders.

The churban of these interlopers and yentas has created a huge chilul hashem by feeding their stories to the national media who in turn take the opportunity to make light or make fun of  Frum yidden make fun of the Torah. Its time for these ignorant interlopers to go back to their natural habitat.

A lot of truth in that. But unfortunately, the same is also true of a lot of rabbonim.

Any time there's some local issue these days people go running to line up support from various rabbonim in other cities, states, or countries. And a lot of pretty big rabbonim - who you might think would know better - are willing to sign all sorts of things and make all sorts of statements about matters that they know very little about.

One of the worst parts of it is that they then open themselves up to ridicule from those who know the situation better. This is one of the biggest reasons for the decline in respect for rabbonim these days, IMHO.

    1. I know about these bloggers as much as they know about the issues and people they blog about.

    2. so they shouldn't blog about child molesters in lakewood? They shouldn't blog about the Satmar's cruel mussar to the parents of the murdered boys, who are not part of his kehillah? They shouldn't blog about Yeshiva Bochrim beating up frum IDF soldiers in Beit Shemesh? Why is it ok for you to blog? Why are you sticking your nose into the business of others?

    3. Ahhh! So you AGREE that they are well equipped to give their deos!

    4. Not at all!!! I dont have to know about them- all I know is they know nothing of what they blog about. They are predictable in each post. They admit themselves they dont know much about what they blog about but as long as it fits their agenda they mix in.

    5. You have an agenda too. Everybody has an agenda. Thank G-D we live in the USA
where freedom of speech and press are inviolate. Can you imagine living under an extreme Litvish or Chareidi Caliphate ?? Apparently, only blogs like this one who massages the Lakewwod and Satmar agendsa can speak out. What nonsense.

  4. So are you saying that R' Chaim Kanievsky who lives in Bnei Brak can't paskin for someone in Chicago? I don't get it.

    1. Dont equate a psak halacha or a shaila brought to a gadol lehavdil with a blogger who sits behind his desk and sticks his nose where it dosent belong. The blogger decides on his/her own what to blog and hock about.

    2. Psak would definitely be different. But is a takana like "no one should go on internet" or "women should not wear shirts made of tricot" considered a psak - or a kol koreh which indeed is more like posting some opinion on the internet without real connection to the community it's about?

    3. So only the ELITE can speak. Big Brother is here as per George Orwell. A blogger has as much right to stick his nose in as any other human, regardless of his l'havdil, status. We're not a cult.

  5. And you as a blogger stick your nose in to the same pot.

Sadly, this post is right on the mark. The blogger from Chicago who doesn't know left from right, thinks he's some kind of baal dei'a in hanhagas haklal. Reading his posts, I find the arrogance to be extremely off-putting. Take for example, the post he did last week telling the Satmar Rebbe what not to say to his kehilla about the murder of the 3 boys. Since when do you even have the right to an opinion to tell a manhig how he should lead his kehilla? Saying (paraphrasing here) "This is the kind of leadership that we need" or the kind of leadership we don't need...who made you a manhig that you decide how the manhigim should lead? The gaava is astounding!!!

Just one more example of this gaavadik behavior - from the same post in the comments section (which descended into leitzanus and bashing of the Satmar Rebbe...I am far from Satmar but these examples are the ones that come to mind easily) the blogger declared that the Satmar Rebbe's views on the medina are eilu v'eilu, but "I disagree with him" Who are you to disagree with the Satmar Rav??!! Do you come to his toes??!!! Again, the gaava is astounding!! (For those who will ask, the mentschlich way to get such a point across is "My Rabbeim and Roshei Yeshiva disagree(d) with him") But, "I disagree with him???!!!"

It really is a Churban...random balebatim, not even talmidei chachamim, and they think they are baalei deia.

And don't ask "who is this guy to have an opinion??!!" or who is thepartialview to have an opinion? I don't have the gall to tell manhigim/gedolim/talmidei chachamim what to do. But to tell a random balebus/blogger not to disrespect the gedolim, you don't need to be a baal deia for that...

Am I? Or am I correct in everything I said?

Se the Chicago blogger's newest post, calling for a rejection of Harav Aharon Dunner, because the Chicago blogger saw an online video of Rav Dunner speaking at a rally protesting Chilul kvarim that Neturei Karta was at also. The gall, the gayva, the arrogance is astounding!!!! The guy is an am haaretz ignoramus and calling for a respected dayan to be placed michutz lamachane!

      A churban...

    3. Why would you recommend that anyone look at comments of the farbissne man from Chicago?

It is mamash a moishav leitzim. And that it being nice.

    4. It's not chillul kevorim, other rabbonim already ruled on that and you know it. Eretz Yisroel, FYI, is the burial grounds for Ottamans, Christians, Crusaders, Romans, Russian pilgrim, Arabs, Babylonians and a host of other peoples who traveled and conquered it over the millennia. Chillul kevorim is an excuse to bash the medina ,that's all it is. .
We need his blog to counteract the one-sided Chareidi- yeshivish anti-Zionist propaganda.

    5. To join in anything with the Neturei Karta is an anathema to most frum Jews.
What we're seeing is a slow hijacking of our Torah and Yiddishkeit by extremists of all stripes and circles and mainstream orthodox Jews ( if there are any left) are fighting back. We refuse to drink the Kool-Aide.

    6. Rav Sternbuch allowed the digging and was attacked by the zealots . Rav Dunner doesn't reside in Israel and has no first-hand knowledge about the situation . Israel has been smeared forever by right wing anti-Zionists who have notoriously distorted facts for decades. Your comments may play in Lakewood and Brisk but not to the majority of Jews who want peace and shalom in our Holy Land.

    7. Isn't it ironic that Rav Dunner and all of his minions will soon have to leave England's anti-Semitic climate and make Aliya to the very country they love to hate.

  8. You're upside down, my friend. The gaave comes from those who don't want their rulings challenged or questioned. You should be informed that we the people are totally and forever fed up with the gave that comes from , especially the yeshivish circles who aligned themselves with chassidish extremists in assering baalei batim to speak out. It's too late for that and for good reason..

  9. You can say whatever want but I'm not buying it. Rav Dunner sought to speak at a rally with a radical anti-Torah Taliban who curse and harass other Jews.. The kevorim are an excuse to bash the medinah, because that issue was settled by big rabbonim who LIVE in Eretz Yisroel, not in the Queen's country. To even be seen with Neturei karta lends legitimacy to them and that's unacceptable, sorry.
