I might be wrong about this, but it seems to me that the current Chareidi leaders make no distinction between studying Secular Philosophy (which really is forbidden and spiritually-dangerous) and studying Mathematics (which is permitted an beneficial); nor do they make any distinction between studying Gentile Religions (which really are forbidden and spiritually-dangerous) and studying Foreign Languages (which are permitted an beneficial).
