It is outrageous that there are homes in Flatbush who STILL have not shoveled, from the very first snow storm. It is a chutzpah beyond belief, and the community needs to start exposing them. Enough is enough! How many people need to slip and break their legs? What is wrong with people? And don't give me any excuses that they may be elderly people, or the worst excuse is that they are away on vacation. ENOUGH! EXPOSE THEM HERE! here are two corner of East 2.......Have they have no busha?
to go ahead not knowing the situation and being mevazeh paople in public??? its not only inappropriate but what happened to Dan lkaf zechus? One of the homes listed by the self righteous bloggers has an almana living there according to a comment posted there.
I know one of the homeowners The person became an AlMANA this year. Yesterday her thirteen year old son was chopping the ice like crazy even near where the street was and i could not understand why but now I realize. I think he even took a break from Yeshiva. This is our fault as a community someone should have volunteered to help her son still at home.lets have a positive post instead on helping shovel the driveways and sidewalks of those who cant do it themselves.
These are very strong and valid points, but what is the point if nothing will be done about stopping YeshivaWorld from continuing their coffee room. It needs to be stopped, or if not, to let the Yeshivishe olam know that its NOT okay to visit the Yeshiva World site. If they can maintain a coffee room like that, then their name is a misnomer, and very misleading, and they are being mach'shil the rabbim. Someone who can have influence needs to do something!
ReplyDeleteAlso note that it is a crime not to shovel. Since police can see these public lists, publishing it is essentially turning someone in to the authorities. If turning someone in is a problem of mesirah, so would publishing the list. If it is not a problem of mesirah, then why not just report them to the authorities?
ReplyDeleteThere is no almana living there. that is a LIE. I live 12 houses away.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you are so worried about these forums, why do you constantly publish items from them? Why are you reading them?
Seriously. Get a life.
So what if its a lie, does that justify mesirah??
DeleteBest is not to hang out in the coffee room. Not physically and not virtually.
ReplyDeleteYou raise many valid questions, most notably what can be done about homeowners who don't shovel. Due to the harsh winter, there are many that have slipped or been inconvenienced by icy sidewalks. What do you recommend as a solution?
When people see a sidewalk not shoveled they should ring the bell and politely ask the home owner if he needs help shoveling the snow. Most probably they are capable they would get the hint and shove,l if its an elderly person or someone who cant do it on their own, than people should bring their shovels and shovel it for them.
