Satmar Rebbe Rav Aaron Teitelbaum |
Naturally It did not take long for the haters to jump at this latest news. The Bloggers and commentors were all over this one spewing their hate and venom against the Satmar Kehilla. Others wrote articles with halachic based sources criticizing the satmar Rebbe.
What business do they have meddling in the Satmar kehillah when they admit the article is alleged and not verified. Secondly, the previous Satmar Rebbe Rav Yoel Teitelbaum established hanhagos for his chassidim to follow. They were adopted and kept by Satmar Chasidim only for their community. They did not impose their lifestyle on others. These are hanhagos that were accepted just for their community. They are not forcing, that it be accepted or applicable by other communities.
The Rebbe can call on his chassidim and followers to be mechazek in long standing takanos within satmar. No where in the articles did it say that the rebbe's message was for the broader tzibbur. His remarks were targeted for his chasidim.
Everyone else should butt out!
It came as no surprise to me to see the general blog world attack Satmar but I was surprised Cross Currents did.But waht can you expect from a forum that found Tommy Lapid worthy of eulogy but not Lhavdil Elef HAvdolos Rav Shmuel Berenbaum?
ReplyDeleteCross Currents has crossed a line with this.
ReplyDeleteDon't we love a whipping boy?
ReplyDeleteHow come it's always tzneiyus which is at fault? The poor women. They get the blame for everything.
It's never about ending the very public chilul Hashem that is the rift between two brothers over who is the more important Rebbe. Of course not. Thats just a small private squabble thats being dragged through the courts
Cross-Currents has been a left-wing hangout from Day 1.
ReplyDeleteSo you're ok with women dying from breast cancer due to not checking?
ReplyDeleteBeneath the header of this page there's some interesting text, it says
ReplyDelete"Thinking out loud; discussing and debating the current issues and challenges affecting the Torah and yeshiva communities "
People think, they comment, they talk about challenges affecting ..... communities. this is a classic example! what's wrong with commenting or debating the issues?
Your post here actually helps all those blogs. You have said nothing concerning the issue at hand. All you've said is that people should "butt out". ok, that's your opinion, why don't you follow it and butt out of what the bloggers are doing?
There is nothing to say concerning the "issue". The Bloggers are the problem by spewing their hate and sinah on something that has nothing to do with them. Thats not called being constructive in discussing issues.
ReplyDeleteIts an internal Satmar issue that has nothing to do with the bloggers.
that hoffman article shows what a lightweight that dude is.
ReplyDeleteAll these tznius stuff start with these groups and then make their way slowly to the yeshivisher. The norms in the yeshiva world today are heavily influenced by Satmar and other Hungarians, and are far far to the right of what was practiced in Lita, including the leading Litvisher yeshiva circles.
ReplyDeleteSo commenting on various shitos of the Satmars and others is appropriate.
And it's not like Satmar is shy about commenting on anyone else.
