from JP updates: The NYPD is investigating an incident in which stones were thrown at an Orthodox Jewish woman in the Kensington section of Brooklyn on Saturday as a possible bias incident, Police officials told JP.

The 22-year-old woman was walking on the street while pushing a carriage with a baby inside when several objects were thrown towards in front of the Bangladesh Muslim mosque, located at 105 Cortelyou Rd in Brooklyn. She also heard some people laughing from behind her as she was targeted, police sources said.

Fortunately, the mother and child were not hurt. A police report was filed right after Shabbos.

While being interviewed, the woman told investigators the stone were presumably thrown out from a window at the mosque, the sources said.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is now investigating the incident as a possible bias incident, Police said.

The recent flare up in violence across Israel and the West Bank may have contributed to this incident, the sources added.
