Pending a lst minute change it appears that after looking into a few options, it was decided the mass Giyus protest will take place Tuesday January 7th, 2014  at Brooklyn's Floyd Bennett Field. A Large tent of 50,000 seats will be erected. Organizers hired a company from San Francisco that will put up the tent within 8 days.

Askanim are working on logistics with transportation, financing and a PR campaign. Many Chasidisher Rebbes and Roshei Yeshiva are expected to join.
The Atzeres is to protest the conscription of yeshiva bochurim to the Israeli army, and the Netanyahu Government assault on Orthodox Jewry.

  1. I can't help but think at how far all that money that's going to help make this happen can go to have an impact in everyday lives, facing real live problems...

  3. This is a disaster. As an Israeli, what am I supposed to think about this? Making a demonstration in Israel is a legitimate form of protest in a democratic country, but what is the point of going to a foreign country in order to get foreigners to "pressure" us to do what they want? The organizers know very well this will increase antagonism to Haredi demands in Israel. Thus, I can only conclude that the real purpose is to direct the energy inwards, into the Haredi community and to stoke the feelings of victimization and isolationism within the Haredi community even at the price of causing major splits in the Jewish people. We could go so far as to say that the real subtext is that the Haredim community is in crisis INTERNALLY and the organizers are hitchhiking on the political struggle in Israel in order to fire up the rank-and-file and keep them in line.
I also object to your characterization of the current government "assaulting Orthodox Jewry". True, the cutbacks hurt people but there are cutbacks to all sectors of society, but I don't see how the Haredim, or any special group for that matter, has a right to DEMAND that the Israeli taxpayer subsidize them beyond what any other sector of society receives. You know very well that the Orthodox community in Israel, all of its sectors, have flourished in Israel and their budgets have ballooned, so a correction was inevitable. It will happen in the US as well, but I doubt anyone would dare say, when it comes that the US government is "assaulting Orthodox Jewry". I hope the Haredi leadership will come to its senses and restrict itself to carrying out legitimate protest that will not divide the Jewish people, who is under real assault around the world in Israel by our Arab enemies, and even in "enlightened" countries such as those in Europe who are trying to ban the very practice of Judaism by attacking things like Brit Milah and kosher shechita.

    1. Zionism is a disaster. As an Authentic-Torah-Jew what am I supposed to think of it? Defend your own mis-state, but what is the point of going to a foreign-group in order to "pressure" the Haredim to do it for you? The Israeli government knows this will increase their antagonism to Zionist demands in Israel. Thus, I can only conclude that the real purpose is to direct the energy inwards, into the Zionist state and to stoke the feelings of facism and hatred for religion within the Zionist community even at the price of causing major splits in the Jewish people. We could go so far as to say that the real subtext is that the State of "Israel" is in crisis INTERNALLY and the organizers are hitchhiking on the political struggle in Israel in order to fire up the rank-and-file and keep them in line.
I also object to your characterization of Orthodox Jewry "evading compulsary army enlistment". True, there are enemies of the Jewish people out there, but I don't see how the Zionists have a right to DEMAND that Authentic-Torah-Jews must fight or die for a state they did not ask for, or for an ideology they are firmly opposed to. You know very well that the Zionist state of Israel is bankrupt so a correction is inevitable (if teshuva is not done soon Ch'v). I hope the Zionist leadership will come to its senses and restrict itself to fighting its own pointless battles and not try to destroy further the Jewish people who is under real assault around the world, in Israel by your Arab enemies you have continuously provoked, and even in "enlightened" countries such as those in Europe as a result of the Chilul Hashem caused by your failed state, its values and policies.

  4. Speaking as a parent of one child who finished service in the IDF, with another going next year, IY"H:

    1. If these people can't bother to live in E"Y, the whole situation is really none of their business.
    2. The general non-Jewish public - which makes up the vast majority of those living in America - couldn't give two hoots about Israeli draft laws. This is a waste of money that could be used for better things.

    1. Speaking as a Torah-Jew who is deeply concerned for the continued spiritual (& physical) welfare of your descendants:

      1. All Jews were obligated at Sinai to ensure the spiritual welfare of all Jews ("arvus").
      2. We must do any hishtadlus possible to save Jewish souls from the zionist-military melting-pot even if chances may look slim when looking with earthly eyes. When a fire is raging no amount of energy or money spent is enough.

What are your childrens Hebrew names that we may daven for their immediate spiritual (and physical) safe return?

    2. nebach, i hope your son makes it out of that he#$hole okay.
anyway, to adress your point: Israel claims to be a homeland for all Jews and often tries to speak as a spokesman for all Jews. Therefore, all Jews have a right to have an opinion about Israel, especially when Israel is persecuting one entire sector of Jews. Secondly, Israel couldn't exist without the support of world Jewry, so it sure as heck is our business what they do.

  5. Dear brothers at the Aguda Party,
    1. To awaken American Jewry from their apathy start with ordering a change of political-policy at your partys American Yated (and European Hamodia) newspaper which have been systematically non-reporting and mis-reporting events and protests in recent months.
    2. Now would be a good time to finally admit PUBLICLY that the root of the problem is not Meretz,Shinui,Bagatz,Media,Netanyahu,Leftists,Mizrachi,Rightists,Yesh Atid...... but the zionist ideology that underpins it all !!

  7. To Dovy and the supposedly "Yehudi Neeman"-
If all you can do is parrot what we are writing, you obviously have nothing to say . It is important to remember that almost half of world Jewry lives in Israel. I believe that Israel is tne ONLY country in the world where the Jewish population is growing You can go on and on about how bad Zionism supposedlly is but the large majority of world Jewry more or less supports Zionism, including the Haredi public You are not in a position to claim that you are the only "authentic Jews".. You may think you are but the rest of us don't recognize that. In fact Haredi Jewry has thrived in the Zionist state and you know it. To make claims that as the propaganda piece above does that "it is increasingly impossible " to live as a Torah Jew and that the government is the "enemy" of Torah Judaism is blatantly false and everyone knows that. I will repeat what I said....the decision of what policies wil be followed in Israel will be made by ISRAELIS, through their elected representatives and it is about time that the Haredi spokesmen start talking frankly to the Israel public about it regarding issues such as what are the responsibilities of Haredi Jews who are not cut out for kollel lfe to the general society, should be, is it reasonable that the state demand that a certain amoung of general studies be included in the educational curriculum (as is the case in the US), what special allocations are Haredim entitled to, etc, etc?. Finally, is really wise to keep claiming it is inevitable that if a Haredi boy comes in contact with non-Haredim he will give up being religiousf? What does that say about the nature of Haredi education? Is coercion the only way to keep Haredi boys religious? Have you and effectiveness forgotten how many Haredi people came out of yeshivot and Hasidic courts and became communists or MAPAM anti-religious activists or anti-reigioius maskilim? Why is the large majority of world Jewry not Haredi? Is there something in the Haredi message that they don't relate to?

    1. The majority of the world are Xtians...
Torah Jewry has thrived (and will continue to) DESPITE Zionism, NOT because of it!
Why does your state have an enormous fear of Haredim? What do the thousands of Baalei Teshuva c'y (or lehavdil chiloni yordim) say about the effectiveness of your zionist education?
Is military-draft coercion and indocrinaion the only way to keep face on bankrupt zionism?

  8. The fact that we're protesting the draft and not Mishkav zachar (which Yesh Atid is pushing for much harder than the draft is a chillul Hashem.

Where were the protests on Mishkav Zachar amongst Orthodox Jews this past month when Yesh Atid and Bayit Yehudi were going at it over Mishkav Zachar?

Bennet was saying this was a religious matter and Lapid was saying it was a secular matter. If all Jews who believe in Torah Min Hashamyim would have protested even half as much as Charadim are protesting the draft Bennett would have been forced to veto that bill as a forbidden religious matter, but the draft is obviously more important.

Unfortunately fighting the draft has nothing to do with God or his Torah.
Remember the anti Torah forces are pushing, Chillul Shabbos, fake geyrus, kidushin, gitten, Mishkav Zachar etc all much worse then this draft.

    An illustration
Truthfully which do you think charadi society would fight harder against? A gezara saying that all Jews are forbidden to wear long coats(bekshes, kapottas etc.), or a gezara the mandating all Jews wear shatnez deoryasa?

Unfortunately much of Charaidi society (specifically amongst chasidim) like much Modern Orthodox Jews (specifically amongst the crowd that does not learn Torah after high school) are really cultural Jews, not as R Gifter called it Torah Jews. Many Jews ONLY keep the Torah because of minhag avosanu beyadanu (which is of course better then not keeping it all together). I see very little true difference in Yiras Shamayim between the avg Chasidish Yid and the avg modern Orthodox Yid (they are both ONLY doing what their parents did). Granted chasdim are more traditional in levush, yiddish, and insularization, and even a few real mitzvos. But those are clearly on the basis of culture (EG. Going to daven with a minyan has a cultural overtone to it as well as Godly) as oppose to yiddishkeit.

To illustrate this point in the recent elections in NY 3 YU Rosh Yeshivas have signed the different Kol Korais about voting against toevah, yet not a single major Chassdish rebbe signed it(this mean number of followers not tzidkus). And from the election results of the recent mayor election it seems that Williamsburg voted less for the anti toevah Erick Salgado then Modern Orthodox Jews did. The Mir and Black Hat Sefardim were the groups that supported him the most.

While there are many eirlecher Yidden in all camps, unfortunately due to the "Jewish" media not reporting the facts they can't fight against the biggest shaas hashmad of our time secular humanism (the gay agenda, abortion, euthanasia, which are leading to attacks shechita, Milah etc.)

How many Charadim knew about the Yesh Atid's pushing of Mishkav Zachar bills?

We also must fight beachdus if we are going to succeed (Achav won, while Dovid Lost), remember during the giyos banos fight all Orthodox Jewery fought it together (which pales in comparison to the mishkav zachar bills that Yesh Atid is trying to pass)

May we go back to follow Toras Moshe and not daas Toras Yirushasanu

Before you censor (block) this comment remember that Yoyakim tried to censor (burn) sefer eicha too.
For some reason people don't like muser?
