Novominsker rebbe and Former chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi Lau, set to speak at the Siyum Hashas

Rumors swirling that former Israeli chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau will be speaking at the  twelfth Siyum Hashas in Metlife stadium. On the weekly Siyum update on the Zev Brenner show Rabbi Shlomo Gertzulin did not deny the rumor although he did not specifically confirm it, he hinted they will both be speaking. Other speakers will be  The head of Agudah the Novominsker rebbe,Rav yaakov Hillel, Rav Nosson Sherman of Artscroll and Rav malkiel Kotler who is said to be mesayem. The program is still in formation and will be publicized within the next 2 weeks.

  1. Rabbi Lau speaking is obviously an appeasment tp the MO crowd who are lomdei daf yomi and feel they have no representation. Yet the MO crowd is still making their own Siyum on August 6th .http://www.siyumhashas12.com./

  2. This is the prophetic words of the Satmar rebbe Rav aaron Teitelbaum why he wont attend the Siyum. He will not sit together with the Chief rabbi of Israel let alone where he will be speaking as well.

  9. None of the Roshei Yeshivas will dream of going if/when Rabbi Lau speaks as he is more for the MO crowd and believes in army service for the torah yungerleit in Israel and other pro-mizrchi views, and Rabbi Lau would never, never be allowed to speak alongside any of the israeli roshei yeshiva (and never mind sit alongside Rav Steinman or Rabbi Chaim or any of the chasidishe rebbes)for any event and never mind an event with 90,000 people attending.
There must be a large MO crowd if the Aguda (the shomer of the orthordox status quo) is inviting Rabbi Lau and his views.
