Rabbi Aaron Kotler CEO of Beth Medrash Govoha told Israeli website
Bechadrei Chareidim that the letter circulating regarding placing a mechitza on buses, is a forgery. The Lakewood Roshei yeshiva never signed on to this. They absolutely have nothing to do with it. What happened is there is a bus route from Lakewood to Monsey and Lakewood to Brooklyn, There are those who want to hang a Mechitza on that bus and they tried forcing the issue to Lakewood as well. Such a mechitza might be acceptable by certain chasidic circles but not in Lakewood. The Roshei yeshiva didn't want to get involved and dont get involved in this. Rabbi Kotler added there is no reason to bother the Roshei yeshiva and issue another letter denying the first one.
I knew it was a forgery because it referred to Lakewood as "Lakewood Ihr H'Torah" and the RY NEVER refer to Lakewood that way.
